In a world that so often has put women as a secondary element I make it my responsibility as an artist for them to felt prioritised, recognised, and loved in my work. It is my devotion to continue this work through a sense of kinship, love and possibility. 'Loving Disruption' to systems of pain and find pathways to healing.
I AM REAL
(AND SO ARE YOU)
I am committed to promoting positive female narratives, and protecting the environment. How this transforms changes through performances, installations, publications and music, but the intent remains consistent throughout. At the depths of my practise is a deep rooted need to relate the human world to that of our natural landscape and a unification in dignity between humans, and all beings we co-habitate with. It is my world view, that until women are freed from the continuing social binds that we are confined to, we as a species will be unable to evolve, spiritually, physically, and culturally. I explore doing this with poetry, and performance, as a way to speak in a more positive world in order for it to emerge.
My practise can be titled as that of 'Love and Disruption' that is to say, to interrupt negative systems, with inherrently positive protest, commentary, and sometimes replacement of negative programming, using experiences, stories, myths and subconscious artwork that attempts to dismantle the canon of internal despair. I make it my daily practise, to root my work with a recognition of fear, horror and terror, but not to mirror it, rather to use the texture of the sublime to mechanise hope, and possibility.
