Lilith, the first recorded female demon in history. One of the first examined in the judaic faith. An image of sexuality, independence, and unashamed femininity. The performance consisted of incorporating injecting raw chillies in symbiosis with shared information.
Using research from biblical texts, ancient language, iconography and ritual, Kate uses her faith as a vehicle to explore the cultural demonisation of women, and how this transformed into violence, and the extent of the violence against women today.
Poetic, emotional, factual and visceral, this solo performance piece was made as part of Norther Arts Festival, Theatre Deli, Sheffield.
